COLLEGE CREEK RESTORATION -

City of Ames Public Works and Parks Department, in collaboration with Iowa State University scientists, are collaboratively designing, engineering, and constructing water quality enhancements on and near the headwaters reach of College Creek. Project goals include restoring stability to stream channel and banks; enhance the function of near-stream riparian areas; and constructing best management practices on homeowner yards in the project watershed. Neighborhood circles and public design meetings will help residents shape their vision for the upper reaches of College Creek. Project funding from the Iowa Watershed Improvement Review Board, Iowa DNR, and Iowa Water Center supports this project.
